Jeanette
Following many years experience working in local luxurious spas, I decided to embark on a new venture and opened the doors at Amethyst in June 2010. My initial aim was to combine the luxury of a spa with affordable prices – choosing a location away from the hustle and bustle of the town to create a calmer atmosphere. It was a complete leap of faith!… We were in the middle of a recession and I had a handful of clients from my previous job, so really was starting from scratch. I had two treatment rooms, one of which I rented out to my friend who worked alongside me self-employed and as word spread, the business grew enough for me to take on my first employee after 6 months.
I can honestly say it has been the best decision in my career and over the years I have continued to learn and evolve as the business has grown to what it is today. I have the most amazing team of therapists, who embrace my wellness approach – providing more than a treatment, but an overall journey for our client.
I have worked within the industry since 1999 and feel fortunate to say that I still love my job and the great sense of achievement it provides. I initially started my career working at Armathwaite Hall where I gained great experience treating a wide variety of clients from all walks of life.
During this time I completed additional training courses in Holistic Therapies and Counselling. I then moved on to Oxleys at Underscar where I worked for over seven years. I absolutely loved my job there and rapidly progressed to Salon Manager and Head of Training. I featured in national spa Magazines and newspapers and was also selected to represent the company at the head office for Gatineau in Paris and Li’Tya in Melbourne Australia.
I love nothing more than spending time with my family and friends. I also like to keep active by cycling, going for walks in the local fells and going to the gym.
My partner Andrew and I have two children, Esme and Zack – who are our absolute world! We often head off on little adventures into nature, from walking the lower Wainwright Fells to swimming in the many natural water pools in the Summer.

Emily
I joined the Amethyst team in June 2013 and have progressed to Senior Therapist – assisting Jeanette in the day-to-day running of the salon. I am thoroughly enjoy working at Amethyst and love the way Jeanette has created such a special place.
I have worked in the beauty industry for over 20 years and gained the majority of my experience while working at Whatley Manor in Whiltshire. My regular clients included many famous people including Hollywood actresses and pop stars. I also featured in various Spa magazines and local newspapers.
I enjoy walking my dogs over the fells and at Crummock Water with my husband Mike. I also like to keep fit, doing yoga, wild swimming in the lakes and running.

Samantha
Following two years experience at the Ladore Falls I joined Amethyst in June 2015… I absolutely love working as part of a team in a busy salon and gain great satisfaction in offering the best treatments possible to our wonderful clients.
On leaving school at 16, I initially chose to train in Health and Social care. I then embarked on a career working in the Retail sector, where I gained great experience in sales and customer service.
I then took a career break to focus on starting a family, during which time I decided to train in Beauty Therapy. I have always had a keen interest in beauty and taking pride in my appearance and following my initial training commenced work at the Ladore Falls, where I finally found my true vocation! After joining Jeanette and the team, I have completed further training in Lava Shells, Intimate Waxing and most recently Lash Lifting.
In my spare time I like to cook and enjoy going for walks with my dogs and spending time with family and friends. Over recent years I have also completed a half marathon, which was a great personal achievement of mine.

Toni
I joined Jeanette and the girls at Amethyst in January 2023, following 6 years experience in the beauty and spa industry. I love the friendly, calming atmosphere at Amethyst and am really excited to further my experience working alongside a well established team with a loyal following of clients.
I initially worked for one year in a local salon and then had the amazing opportunity to work at The Spa at Underscar for 5 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my role in both settings and loved providing luxury spa treatments using Decleor and Neom at Underscar.
I LOVE Elemis, and can not wait to attend my training at their training school in Manchester in the near future.
In my spare time I enjoy baking, yoga and walking our dog with my husband Teddy. I also enjoy catching up with family and friends.
